The Hunter Valley region is a popular lifestyle destination due to its lifestyle, leading education facilities, playgrounds, sporting grounds, national parks, beaches, rivers, lakes and vibrant arts and entertainment scenes.
Singleton is located on the banks of the Hunter River in the lovely Hunter Valley region that boasts major economic activity and supply.
Based 197 kilometres north-north-west of Sydney, and 70 kilometres north-west of Newcastle the region produces wine grapes, and olives and holds a substantial role in agricultural farming. The Hunter Valley has a long relationship and history to coal mining, with 17 active coal mining sites situated in the region.
The main attractions to see in Singleton are the Australian Army Infantry Museum, Singleton Historical Society & Museum Inc, Singleton Sundial, and the local parks including Townhead, Burdekin, and Riverside. Nearby attractions include Lake St Clair and Mount Royal National Park.

Maitland is a city based along the Hunter River in the Lower Hunter Valley region of New South Wales.
Situated approximately 166 kilometres north of Sydney and 30 minutes' drive to the famous Nobbys Beach in Newcastle, it brings a rich history and a great food scene. Maitland is also home to an excellent art scene along with its bustling community.
Only a short 30-minute drive from Maitland is the Hunter Valley, one of Australia's major wine regions, with a viticultural history dating back to the early 1800s.
Known for varietals such as Semillon and Shiraz, it’s home to numerous wineries, including world-renowned brands and family-run boutique operations. Most are located south of the Hunter River and offer cellar door wine tastings and vineyard tours.

Tucked into the Upper Hunter region, Muswellbrook is in the northern parts of the Sydney basin, bordering the New England region, about 243 kilometres north of Sydney and 127 kilometres northwest of Newcastle.
The region boasts mouth-watering local produce, breathtaking scenic drives, and multiple art galleries featuring acclaimed national works. It is also home to some beautiful vineyards a great place to unwind on the weekend.
There are a total of 27 mines in and around the Muswellbrook Shire. Coal mining has ensured that many residents of the shire have, or are, working in the mines.

Newcastle is an expanding harbour city on the East Coast of New South Wales just a little over two hours' drive from Sydney.
Surrounded by plentiful beaches linked by the Bathers Way walking track. The walk provides access to Bogey Hole, an ocean bath from the colonial period. Also in the area is the 1880s Fort Scratchley, a historic site and a viewpoint for spotting migrating whales and dolphins.
There is no shortage of things to do within the region, whether it’s places to explore or to try out the latest eatery. Key locations to visit in Newcastle include Darby St, Beaumont St and the Bathers Way track to immerse yourself in the majestic sunrise and sunsets.
