In Australia, we operate 23 mines in New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. We currently mine coal, copper, lead-zinc and nickel-cobalt.

Coal

Glencore is Australia's largest coal producer, with 17 mining operations across New South Wales and Queensland. Our coal is exported from Abbot Point, Dalrymple Bay, Wiggins Island and RG Tanna coal terminals in Queensland, and from the port of Newcastle in New South Wales.

Copper

High-grade copper is sourced from our Mount Isa Mines complex in North Queensland. Our product is processed at our Mount Isa smelter and copper refinery in Townsville for export from the Port of Townsville.

Zinc/Lead

We mine zinc and lead at the Mount Isa and Lady Loretta mines in North Queensland and McArthur River Mine in the Northern Territory. A zinc-lead concentrator, zinc-lead filter plant and lead smelter at Mount Isa Mines enable processing before export from the Port of Townsville. Our McArthur River Mine product is transported to the Bing Bong loading facility on the Gulf of Carpentaria for export.

Nickel/Cobalt

Our world-class nickel and cobalt resource at Murrin Murrin in Western Australia makes us one of Australia's largest producers of these sought-after commodities. Our nickel and cobalt are exported from Kwinana, south of Perth.
