Ravensworth Underground

Our Ravensworth Underground Mine was placed on care and maintenance in September 2014.

Situated in the Hunter Valley coalfields of New South Wales, 25 kilometres north-west of Singleton, Ravensworth Underground was developed for longwall mining of a large, semi-soft coking coal reserve. The product was blended with hard coking coal and used in steel production or for power generation.

Ravensworth Underground has been managed by Glencore since February 2008 and is a joint venture between Resource Pacific Pty Ltd (owned by Glencore and Marubeni) and POSCO (a Korean steel manufacturer).

As the majority shareholder of Resource Pacific Pty Ltd, Glencore oversees management of Ravensworth Underground.
