Family business continues to supply hand-made goods to Mount Isa Mines.
Many elements go into ensuring that operations as large as Mount Isa Mines continue to run efficiently, and our local suppliers play a critical role.
For over 20 years, local supplier JRL Doyle has been supplying an array of hand-made canvas, leather and PVC bags and pouches to Mount Isa Mines, helping to ensure that every employee is work-ready.
The family run business was started in 2001 by Richie Doyle. After 10 years in the business, he passed the reigns to his son Jack, who now owns and manages JRL Doyle with his sister Therese.
Jack is running JRL Doyle with his sister, Therese.
Collectively, the family have supplied Mount Isa Mines with quality, locally made and unique products, including tool bags and respirator pouches for 20 years, while also servicing the broader region.
The durable products are widely used by employees and contractors in our operations to comfortably, conveniently and hygienically carry and store PPE, tools and other work items.
At JRL Doyle, everything is made in-house from scratch using Australian products. They even personally deliver the orders to the mines’ distribution warehouse.

Jack says that supplying Mount Isa Mines has allowed JRL Doyle to expand and has provided long-term job security for his family.
“With this security we are also able to support our Mount Isa community by sponsoring local sports clubs and events.”
Queensland Metals’ Contracts Sourcing and Execution Manager, Marilyn Office, acknowledges the importance of our partnerships with local suppliers.
Jack personally delivers the monthly supply of products to IDC, where they are stored awaiting distribution across site.
“Local procurement is vital to the steady-state running of our operations,” Marilyn says.
“Some of the important aspects we seek in our suppliers is entrepreneurialism and the ability to think creatively to solve some of our most challenging problems. JRL Doyle ticks all of those boxes.”
“Supporting our local suppliers is one of the ways Queensland Metals invests back into the local communities in which we operate.”
