Generously supporting our community partners

Many community organisations rely on funding to continue providing essential services and amenities to the regional towns in which we live.

We recognise the hard work that small, not-for-profit organisations put into the projects that we fund across our regions. As their projects come to fruition, it’s great to see so many people and businesses benefitting from the events and resources that our sponsorships help to deliver.

Let’s take a look at some of the wonderful projects we have been involved with over the first half of the year in Townsville and Mount Isa.

Glencore funding will enable The Upcycling Project by Shed 3 to purchase equipment to create items out of melted plastic. The project provides meaningful engagement activities offering employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups within the Townsville region while also benefiting the environment.  The recycled products help fund the valuable work Shed 3 is doing by using art and music to engage and improve the social and emotional wellbeing of at-risk and vulnerable young people in the community.

Townsville Sailing Club

The Townsville Sailing Club is undertaking clubhouse renovations to meet operational demands and provide a comfortable learning facility to support skills development in marine and sailing activities. Once renovations are complete, the clubhouse will be available to hire, increasing the club’s financial independence and viability.
