CNW Electrical and Mount Isa Mines in business partnership for over 20 years

Mount Isa electrical business CNW Electrical has proudly serviced Mount Isa Mines (MIM) and North West Queensland since 1999 and continues to support our local community.

CNW supplies electrical products and electrical cable to MIM from its warehouse in West Street. The warehouse is located in the former Tristram’s soft drink factory, which later became Coca-Cola distribution centre until CNW moved in, in June 1999.

CNW owner, Brian Webb is passionate about servicing MIM, which has enabled him to build the company to what it is today, as the leading independently owned electrical wholesaler in Australia.

CNW staff Angela Logan, Keith Ballard, Kim Smith, Josh Lailey, Karen Clewes, Lani Lailey and Caroline Tilley.

“CNW provides 24/7 coverage for breakdowns for MIM and the North West  region,” says Brian.

“The Mount Isa warehouse holds sufficient quantities of product to allow for increased freight times and supply chain issues, such as floods, to ensure business continuity. “

“CNW continually introduces new technologies to improve safety and productivity.”

In 2012, CNW became the major sponsor of the Mailman Express and Race Day, which it still proudly sponsors today, adding to its list of local sporting and community sponsorships for more than 20 years.

During the August Rodeo week, CNW holds an annual trade show that brings electrical equipment suppliers to Mount Isa to showcase the latest in technology from their manufacturers, alleviating the need to travel to shows in capital cities.

Queensland Metals’ Contracts Sourcing and Execution Manager, Marilyn Office, acknowledges the importance of Glencore’s partnerships with local suppliers.
