Celebrating Excellence: Glencore Finalists Shine at the 2025 WIMARQ Women in Mining Awards

The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) have once again joined forces to celebrate the outstanding contributions of women in the Queensland resources sector through the annual 2025 QRC/WIMARQ Resources Awards for Women. These prestigious awards honour the remarkable achievements of women who have made significant impacts in their respective fields and recognise the companies and individuals championing diversity and inclusion.

The 2025 WIMARQ Women in Mining Awards will be presented in Brisbane on March 7 as part of the WIMARQ International Women's Day celebration, bringing together industry leaders and trailblazers to recognise the vital role of women in the resources sector.

Award Categories

This year, awards will be presented in the following seven categories:

  1. Inclusion and Diversity Champion in Queensland Resources
  2. Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance in Queensland Resources
  3. Exceptional Tradeswoman/Operator/Technician in Queensland Resources
  4. Exceptional Woman in Queensland Resources Technological Innovation
  5. Exceptional Young Woman in Queensland Resources
  6. Exceptional Woman in Queensland Resources
  7. Exceptional Female Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy Student

These categories highlight the diverse and critical contributions of women across all levels of the resources industry, from leadership and innovation to on-the-ground operations and diversity advocacy.

Glencore's trailblazers: 2025 finalists

Glencore is proud to announce that four of its talented employees have been shortlisted for the 2025 WIMARQ Women in Mining Awards, a testament to their hard work, leadership, and dedication to excellence. Our finalists are:

  • Jackie Rose-Meyer, Regional Head of Studies, Global Capital Studies nominated for Exceptional Women in Queensland Resources Award
  • Nandini Jaysree, Superintendent SAP Systems, Regional Information Systems and Technology nominated for Exceptional Women in Queensland Resources in Technological Innovation
  • Akala Street, Mechanical Engineer, Glencore Technology nominated for Exceptional Young Women in Queensland Resources Award
  • Makalea Coster, Mine Assistant, GFM Operations nominated for Exceptional Tradeswoman/Operator/Technician in Queensland Resources
