Glencore wishes you a safe and joyous festive season
There was plenty of cheer as our Queensland Metals employees and their family and friends came together to celebrate Christmas and mark the end of another year.
Christmas parties held during November and December are an opportunity to show our appreciation and recognise the hard work of our employees over the course of 2021.
Mount Isa Mines Christmas parties were held at Kruttschnitt Oval with a buffet-style meal, music, jumbo slide, rides for the kids, a spectacular fireworks display, and a visit from Santa.
Our Townsville Operations eased into the festive season celebrating at Cluden Park Racecourse. There were loads of fun activities for the kids and entertainment for everyone including Ranger Dan’s hands on interactive wildlife display and a rock climbing wall.
In Cloncurry, Ernest Henry Mining personnel were given the opportunity to have individual crew dinners and celebrate at local restaurants to help support businesses that have suffered over the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mount Isa Mines sponsored the Mount Isa City Council’s annual Christmas Carols Spectacular held in December at the Civic Centre, with family-friendly entertainment, and a variety of food stalls for the crowd who enjoyed the Christmas festivities.
Chief Operating Officer for Glencore Zinc Assets, Matt O’Neill says these community events give employees, their families and the community the opportunity to celebrate and enjoy time together.
“As 2021 draws to a close, it’s important we recognise the hard work and dedication of our employees across Queensland Metals,” Matt says.
“To all of our employees and their families, warm wishes for a happy and safe festive season and a healthy and prosperous New Year. Remember your reason for staying safe this Christmas. Happy holidays!”
