Mount Isa Mines employees named finalists in the North Queensland Regional Training Awards

Three Mount Isa Mines employees have been chosen as finalists in the North Queensland Regional section of the Queensland Training Awards.
Chelsea Winters - Special Serviceperson, Renee Moran - Apprentice Boilermaker and Brianna Thirlwall - Planner, will represent Glencore in the North Queensland Regional event to be held in Townsville on 31 July 2026.
Chelsea, Vocational Student of the Year finalist, has been acknowledged for her dedication to professional development, completing multiple qualifications while continuing to work full time underground, and for her contribution to inspiring and developing other crew members.
Renee, finalist in the prestigious Harry Hauenschild Apprentice of the Year award has been recognised for her strong fabrication skills and attention to detail, commitment to safe work practices, professionalism and resilience in her trade.
Brianna, who was awarded Female Trade Student of the Year at the 2025 Mount Isa TAFE Trade Excellence Awards, has been nominated by TAFE in the Harry Hauenschild Apprentice of the Year category. With her resilience, advocacy for women in trades and dedication to continuous learning, Brianna is an outstanding ambassador for vocational education and training.
This year, the prestigious Queensland Training Awards celebrates 65 years recognising individuals and organisations that demonstrate success, innovation and best practice across the state.
