Denman aged care facility, Merton Living, has received some welcomed support from Glencore’s Mangoola Open Cut operation, with funding to purchase a fully integrated temperature testing system.

The temperature testing equipment offers a touchless management system for automatic COVID-19 contact-tracing compliance.

Mangoola Environment and Community Manager, Nathan Lane, said the operation was delighted to provide assistance to help ensure the not-for-profit organisation was able to comply with relevant regulations.

“We’ve partnered with Merton Living for a number of years now and it’s a great source of pride for our workforce,” he said.

“The newly installed system takes a photograph of visitors, records the information and sounds an alarm if a high temperature is detected,” he said.

“It’s easy to use with no need for visitors to have a smartphone or wait for staff to record their temperatures manually.”

Merton Living Facility Manager, Shani Mitchell, thanked Mangoola for the donation, saying it had not only reduced staff workload but also helped to safeguard the health of residents.

“The new system does away with paper records that have been time consuming for staff to electronically transcribe as required for contact tracing purposes,” Shani said.

“Thank you to everyone at Mangoola for this donation and their ongoing support over the years.”

Throughout their partnership, Mangoola Open Cut has donated patient turning equipment, communication systems and a resident transport vehicle to support Merton Living.
