Glencore has won three major awards at the 2025 NSW Women in Mining Awards, which celebrate the outstanding achievements of women in the industry.

Congratulations go to:

  • Hope Mulvihill, who received the Exceptional Woman Award,
  • Jenny Park, who received the Exceptional Young Woman Award,
  • Glencore Coal’s First Nations Pathways Program (FNPP), which received the Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance Award.

Glencore Coal Chief Executive Officer Ian Cribb congratulated the NSW winners and finalists for their accomplishments and recognition.

“We’re incredibly proud to see Hope, Jenny and our First Nations Pathways Program team recognised for their accomplishments and contributions,” Ian said.

“The calibre of nominees at the awards was outstanding, and reflects the great work being done within the industry.”

“Glencore is very supportive of the Women in Mining Awards, and the role this forum plays in recognising the exceptional talent and contribution of the women in our sector. For those who know Hope and Jenny it was no surprise to hear they had been recognised as they have both proven that they are the best at what they do amongst all their peers.”

“Congratulations to all NSW award winners and finalists.”

Hope Mulvihill first joined Glencore in 2011 as part of the management crew for the Liddell Seam Project and later transitioned to Glencore Coal as a Senior Mining Engineer.

Hope’s hard work and passion saw her move to a Business Analyst position, where she was involved in mine planning, economic modelling as well as technical and financial due diligence.

In 2024, Hope rose to the position of General Manager of Business Development and Technical Services, overseeing governance, business planning, merger and acquisition due diligence assessments and project support.

“This award is an incredible milestone and a moment of pride in my career. Mining has given me the opportunity to grow, innovate, and lead in a field that thrives on resilience and ingenuity,” Hope said.

“I’m deeply grateful for the experiences and people who have shaped my path, and the incredible support that has enabled me to take on new opportunities, face challenges, and thrive.”

Jenny Park kicked off her career in Glencore’s graduate program, completing rotations at Liddell CHPP and Ulan Surface Operations.

She was promoted to Process Engineering and Logistics Coordinator in 2018 and then to her current role as Process Engineer (South) in 2020, making her the first female to join Glencore’s corporate processing team.

“It’s a profound honour to receive this award and to be recognised alongside such exceptional women,” Jenny said.

“Through my time with Glencore, I’ve been challenged to grow and provided with the tools to succeed.”

“This award is a testament to the support and opportunities I’ve received throughout my career, and I am so grateful to the incredible mentors, teammates and friends who have helped along the way.”

Glencore’s FNPP provides a 26-week paid industry-ready training course targeting First Nations peoples, and First Nations women who will benefit from pre-employment training; transition-to-work support; and specific support services needed to overcome challenges and barriers to employment.

FNPP Coordinator, Carrie Bendeich, said the award recognised the program's commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within the industry and beyond.

“We are incredibly proud to receive the Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance Award, because the success of this program reflects the success of our First Nations participants,” Carrie said.

“The success of our graduates extends beyond their individual achievements. It inspires their friends, families, and neighbours.

“This ripple effect can lead to greater community engagement and more individuals pursuing their own career pathways, especially in regional areas where employment opportunities are crucial.”
