RACQ CQ Rescue
When the unexpected occurs in regional or remote areas of Central Queensland, there exists a lifeline that can be the difference between life and death. That lifeline is RACQ CQ Rescue.
The Mackay-based rescue helicopter service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, providing rapid deployment of medical or rescue teams to major accidents, medical incidents or search and rescue operations.
The service acts as an airborne intensive care unit to transfer critically ill or injured patients to a hospital to get the treatment they need.

Every task they undertake requires skill, knowledge and quick thinking. In the world of emergency response, there is no room for error.
That's why Glencore is proud to support the crew so they can be there when communities need them most.
A longstanding partnership
Since the first lifesaving mission in 1996, when a woman with a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy was transported from Hayman Island to Mackay, times have undoubtedly changed.
But CQ Rescue's enduring commitment to serving the Central Queensland region has never wavered.
We are proud to share CQ Rescue’s commitment to safety and training, recognising that it's not just about business, but about the wellbeing of our people and communities.
We support the CQ Rescue crew to develop their emergency response capabilities through ongoing pilot and crew training.
It forms part of a broader investment from Glencore to support emergency response services. Since 2006, we have supported three rescue helicopter services across our operational areas, investing more than $5.3 million on initiatives that focus on safety and training.
From site to sky
Along with RACQ CQ Rescue, Glencore partners with two other key helicopter rescue services across New South Wales and Queensland – the Hunter Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service.
