Fatal Incident at United Wambo Coal Operations

It is with deep sadness that we confirm a worker has passed away following a mobile equipment incident today at our United Wambo Joint Venture coal operation in the NSW Hunter Valley.
“Our sincere condolences go out to the worker’s family, friends and colleagues. This is tragic news for our entire workforce. Our immediate focus is on providing support to the worker’s family and our employees,” said Peter Sharpe, CEO of Glencore’s coal business in Australia.
Emergency services and police are onsite and the relevant New South Wales authorities have been notified. Mining operations at the site are being suspended.
No further details are available at this time out of respect for the worker’s family.
