Glencore operations contribute almost $20 billion to Australia

Glencore‘s latest Australian economic contribution report shows its operations directly contributed $19.9 billion to the Australian economy in 2022.
This contribution included:
- providing work for 18,190 employees and contractors
- spending $10.4 billion on goods and services
- supporting 7,370 Australian-based businesses
- paying $2.1 billion in wages and salaries
- paying $7.5 billion in taxes, royalties and rates to federal, state, territory and local governments
Glencore operates 24 mines across Australia as well as a number of metals processing facilities including concentrators, smelters and refineries.
We are Australia’s largest producer of coal, cobalt, zinc and lead, and second-largest producer of nickel, copper and silver.
