As the Director of Technologies at Glencore Technology, his team are investigating ways their technology can be adopted by other industries.
“Our IsaMill Technology that’s used for fine griding, we actually took that from the food industry,” Stanko explains.
“It was used for grinding chocolate to be able to make sure you get that lovely texture in your mouth.
“If I think about, can technology go from the mining industry, outside of it – definitely and there’s a few examples we already know.
“Our flotation technology, the Jameson Cell, it can be used to clean up oil and other impurities from sand. There’s a multitude of applications that can be used for.”
